Moving AdvancePro Database to New Server, Server Migration

NOTE: Windows Updates - must be up-to-date

Gather new server details: Server Name, IP Address

 

1. On OLD server machine, create AdvancePro Backup

2. Secure copy of AdvancePro backup on AdvancePro file server, create download link.

 

3. Download and install AdvancePro Installer and Patch on the new server machine (links to be provided by tech support)

4. Download and install Microsoft SQL Express 2012 (Optional)

 

5. Download and install Microsoft SQL Management Studio 2012 

 

6. Download and Restore AdvancePro Backup on new server

 

7. Check/Upgrade AdvancePro database

 

8. Setup Firewall Settings

 

9. Connect existing clients to new server. Troubleshoot connection.
