I have multiple companies and I get the Fatal Error: Cannot Connect to database error message.

If you have recently installed a new update, you may get this error. Default installation of the updates is for the Main Company only.

To update the child companies, you would have to follow steps given below:

  • Make sure that you anti virus software is off during installation of the updates since this interferes with the running of a few script files
  • Install the update for the Main company. It is the default installation -
  • Go to Start Menu - Click on All Programs - Next click on AdvancePro - Click on RESTORE BACKUP DATABASE - Click the Load Child Company button - Select the Child Company from the drop down
  • Click on the Check DB button for the selected child company
